HOW TO CONVERT RASTER TO VECTOR

First of all,

Knowing the difference between raster and vector graphics is essential to the quality and versatility of your work in the field of graphic design. Raster images are made up of pixels, hence they are frequently not scalable without compromising quality. But you can easily turn raster files into vectors with Adobe Illustrator, opening you a world of creative possibilities. This article will walk you through the easy steps of using Adobe Illustrator for converting raster files to vectors.

First, launch Adobe Illustrator.

Open the document you wish to work on converting to vector format in Adobe Illustrator, or create a new one.

Step Two: Bring in Your Raster Picture

Choose the raster picture you wish to convert to a vector by going to File > Place. Transfer the picture to your artboard.

Step 3: Trace Image

Once the raster picture is selected, locate the "Image Trace" option by navigating to the top menu. When you click it, a drop-down menu will show up. Select "Make and Expand" from the menu. Your raster image will now be converted to a vector by Illustrator.

Step Four: Enhance Your Vector Graphic

Your vector image may require further refinement after the conversion. The "Direct Selection" tool (white arrow) can be used to pick and modify specific anchor points. This is a crucial stage in perfecting your vector illustration.

Step 5: Make Your Vector Wider

Your vector artwork has to be expanded in order to be edited and manipulated further. Click Object > Expand from the top menu after selecting your vector picture.

Step 6: Detailing and cleanup

If you have any undesired artifacts or defects in your vector graphic, zoom in and carefully clear them up. To get accurate detailing, use Illustrator's numerous tools, such as the Pen tool, to add or modify anchor points.

Save your vector image in step seven.

Save your file in a vector format, such as.ai or .eps, if your vector artwork is satisfactory. By doing this, you can be confident that your graphic will remain editable and scalable for use in other projects.
